Pastor Micah Otto joined Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in July 2026, and he and his wife, Sarah, are thrilled to call Omaha home. Good Shepherd is Pastor Otto’s first call, and he has already found the congregation to be a warm and welcoming family of believers.

Pastor Otto’s desire to serve as a pastor began in grade school. As the son of a pastor, he grew up witnessing firsthand the joy of sharing God’s Word. That desire grew in high school at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota, and a Master of Divinity from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, graduating in May 2026.

A verse that first drew him to ministry, and still motivates him today, is 1 Corinthians 9:19, 22–23: “Though I am free and belong to no one, I have made myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible... I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” (NIV)

That verse shapes his heart for Good Shepherd’s mission: to be fed by God’s Word and Sacrament, to follow him in love, and to find the lost with his Word. Pastor Otto looks forward to sharing that Word with all people, including children and adults, couples and singles, longtime members and first-time guests.

Pastor Otto met his wife, Sarah, in high school and married after college. Sarah teaches kindergarten at Good Shepherd Lutheran School. Together they love camping, hiking, and exploring Omaha’s restaurants and markets. On his days off, you’ll likely find Pastor Otto on the golf course or playing sports. Both have quickly become Husker fans, especially of Nebraska volleyball, a sport they love to play themselves.
